The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) has announced it will delay the start of training - based on athletics in the Central Coast section - until the 2020-2021 school year. Fall school sports can begin in December for all fall high schools, the Central Coast Section announced Tuesday. Four of the five sports will begin their season in January, with football scheduled to begin on January 8, 2021, according to the section's website. The other four sports - baseball, basketball, football and athletics - announced for the 2019-2020 school year, as well as basketball and volleyball, have been postponed until 2021.
Officially, the California Interscholastic Federation, which regulates high school sports, will not host games in any of those sports until at least December. CCS said in a press release that December 14 will be the first day of training for all high schools in the Central Coast area.
